Safety on NannyTap
Our platform is dedicated to matching up expertise with need. Each subscribed child carer are working or training within the child care profession, each person having experience, qualifications, training and holding an up to date DBS.
All Child Carers go through a vetting process. Firstly, we only allow people within the childcare sector & professions, working or currently training in early years education, nursing, childminder, teacher or teaching assistant, to name a few professions.
NannyTap believes transparancy is invaluable, providing peace of mind. Potential childcare members looking to sign up with NannyTap will be asked to provide DBS, photo ID and disclose their credentials via the certificate upload on their profiles. We believe that this reveals a much clearer, in-depth picture & suitability than a DBS check alone.
We strongly recommend that on each new booking you ask to see the carer's photo ID. Our child care members will expect you to check and request this and are fully aware of all the formalities regarding safety checks whilst working with children.
What is a DBS?
DBS stands for Disclosure and Barring Service. DBS checks are a report of somebody’s criminal record in England and Wales. They show crimes that an individual has been caught for, not those they haven’t. You can find out more on www.gov.uk
There is now something called the 'DBS Update Service'. This allows applicants keep their DBS certificate up to date online. Nannytap only allows child carers that are registered on the DBS update service. We check each one accordingly.
Nannytap requires that anyone signing up to our platform holds an enhanced DBS check and they are registered for the DBS Update Service.
Nannytap takes Safeguarding seriously, we suggest Child Carers members to have up to date training, knowledge and understanding of the procedures to follow For more info Click Here
